12 August 2009 ? Presidential Towers is reconfiguring its retail spaces and two new tenants are already on board: Fitness Formula health club and the South Loop?s popular Yolk restaurant. Both are Chicago-based companies: Fitness Formula Ltd. has leased two levels on the Clinton Street side of the building that equal approximately 52,043 square feet. The restaurant Yolk has leased 4,200 square feet just south of the new gym with access on Clinton between Madison and Monroe. Presidential Towers is a four-tower apartment complex with 2,346 units that was built in the 1980?s. The buildings were originally designed with interior, “mall-like” retail spaces. However, the retail overhaul has renamed the retail space, “Shops at Presidential Towers,” and is designed to provide stores with street access. According to Crain?s Chicago Business, a gourmet market is considering the retail space on the corner of Jefferson and Monroe streets, while the complex?s current grocer, Presidential Market, is also in talks about renewing its lease. All-in-all, a new look and exciting addition to the West Loop neighborhood!
